Clinical Practice Guidelines
Clinical Practice Guidelines
Children’s Medical Center Health Plan adopts clinical practice guidelines from national sources or develops guidelines in collaboration with appropriate specialty Providers. Whenever possible, Children’s Medical Center Health Plan will work with regional collaborative groups to develop guidelines to minimize the variation in guidelines distributed by health plans in the area. These guidelines, which are not intended to be prescriptive or replace clinical judgment, are statements designed to assist practitioners in making decisions about appropriate health care for specific clinical circumstances. Clinicians remain responsible in accordance with their own professional judgment regarding patient assessment and the individualization of care.
