Clinical and Administrative Advisory Committee
The Clinical and Administrative Advisory Committee (CAAC) will meet on a quarterly basis to assist Children’s Medical Center Health Plan in:
- Developing, reviewing, and revising clinical practice guidelines, based on clinical best practices and community standards
- Reviewing general clinical practice patterns and assessing Provider compliance with clinical guidelines
- Developing Quality Improvement strategies and studies
- Developing improved administrative procedures
- Providing recommendations on how to improve care based on member feedback
- Connecting network Providers and Children’s Medical Center Health Plan clinical experts for purposes of peer support and best practice information sharing
The Children’s Medical Center Health Plan Clinical and Administrative Advisory Committee (CAAC) will be comprised of community providers and other physician health and behavioral health experts. All members of the CAAC should have experience working with the STAR Kids population. There will be a minimum of eight voting members, with each committee member representing a constituency that work with Children’s Medical Center Health Plan in the Dallas Service Area from both urban and rural communities. Participating Providers and community providers serve a two-year term and may include:
- Medical Equipment and Supplies Providers
- Home Health Providers
- Behavioral Health Practitioners
- Pharmacists
- Allied health services providers (PT, OT, ST)
- Community clinics (FQHCs and/or RHCs)
- Hospitals
- Long term care providers
- Non-physician medical practitioners
- Primary Care Providers
- Specialists
