Welcome to the Children’s Medical Center Health Plan!

The Children's Medical Center Health Plan is a private, nonprofit corporation established by Children’s Health in 2013. Our goal is to make life better for the members we serve.  We have a longstanding commitment to our community that includes education, advocacy and preventive care. We also have a set of values that guides us in all that we do as a managed care organization.

Mission

  • To make life better for children

Values

  • Selfless Service:  Serving others with an enthusiastic spirit
  • Passionate Advocacy:  Standing as champions for children
  • Commitment to Excellence:  Driving innovation and quality care to maximize outcomes
  • Unwavering Integrity:  Creating an environment of trust through honesty, transparency and authenticity

As a private, nonprofit corporation established by Children’s Health in 2013, the Children's Medical Center Health Plan is the only pediatric-focused, provider-driven managed care health plan in the Dallas Service Area (Collin, Dallas, Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro and Rockwall counties).

The Children’s Medical Center Health Plan has been selected to administer the new STAR Kids program in the Dallas Service Area starting in the Fall of 2016.  This program will specifically serve youth and children (age 20 or younger) who either receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Medicaid or are enrolled in the Medically Dependent Children Program (MDCP).  Also, children and youth who receive services through other 1915 (c) waiver programs will receive their basic health services (acute care) and long-term support services through the STAR Kids program.

“Our main goal is to help improve health outcomes through a family-based approach to health and well-being for children with complex medical needs,” says Christopher J. Durovich, president and chief executive officer of Children’s Health. “This means we will work with families to ensure they are receiving the right care at the right time to meet the unique needs of their children,” says Durovich.

The Children's Medical Center Health Plan will provide benefits, such as prescription drugs, hospital care, primary and specialty care, preventive care, therapies, personal care services, private duty nursing, and durable medical equipment and supplies. We will focus on pediatric preventive care, emphasizing the importance of primary and complex care medical homes. We will specialize in the coordination of care for our most complex medical members to ensure they receive needed services and connect them with qualified providers in a timely manner to improve their health and independent living.
